Wiesloch, 11th December 2008 - The MLP AG Supervisory Board unanimously elected Dr. Peter Lütke-Bornefeld, Chairman of the Executive Board at the Kölnische Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft, as its new Chairman at today’s meeting. As such he will be succeeding Dr. h.c. Manfred Lautenschläger with effect from 15th December. As previously announced, the company founder and major shareholder will be retiring from his role as Chairman on his 70th birthday, but will remain a Member of the Supervisory Board.
“Mr. Lütke-Bornefeld has contributed significantly to shaping the dependable work conducted by the Supervisory Board for many years,” comments Dr. h.c. Manfred Lautenschläger. “I am delighted that the Board has chosen him as my successor.”
Dr. Peter Lütke-Bornefeld (62) has been a Member of the MLP Supervisory Board since 28th May 2002. With a PhD in social sciences, he began his career at the KKB Bank in Düsseldorf where he was a Member of the Executive Board from 1986 to 1989. In early 1990 he was appointed to the Executive Board at the Kölnische Rückversicherungs Gesellschaft where he was elected as Chairman in 1993.
